UFC officials announced the new pairing on Friday. With the featherweight bout, the Aug. 30 event features a total of ten fights. The card will be headlined by the bantamweight title rematch pitting T.J. Dillashaw against Renan Barao and also includes the UFC debut of Henry Cejudo, who takes on Scott Jorgensen at flyweight.
Jackson, the Legacy Fighting Championship featherweight titleholder, will come in on just nine days’ notice to fill the void left by a late Justin Edwards injury. “The Leech” grabbed headlines last month for his first-round arm-triangle choke victory against World Extreme Cagefighting veteran Leonard Garcia at LFC 33. Jackson is undefeated in nine pro bouts, all via knockout or submission.
Medeiros, 26, is still looking for his first official win inside the Octagon, as the Hawaiian saw his November 2013 knockout of Yves Edwards overturned after testing positive for marijuana metabolites. “The Kid” last saw action in April, when he was choked out by an arm-in guillotine from Jim Miller at UFC 172.
