Larkin, Couture, Johnson Top Strikeforce Challengers 19 Payroll

Lorenz Larkin, Ryan Couture and Lavar Johnson were the top earners at Friday’s Strikeforce Challengers 19, each pocketing $10,000 in purse money for their efforts at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Unbeaten light heavyweight Larkin (Pictured) earned $5,000 to show an additional $5,000 for his unanimous decision win over Nick Rossborough ($3,000) in the evening’s main event, according to figures released Monday to Sherdog.com by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.

Couture netted a flat fee of $10,000 in his majority decision against Maka Watson ($2,000), while Johnson earned the same amount in his second-round submission loss to Shawn Jordan ($8,000).

Other top earners on the card included welterweight Jason High, who took home $8,000 with a unanimous nod against Todd Moore ($4,000), and lightweight James Terry ($8,000), who knocked out Brazilian prospect Magno Almeida ($2,000).

As always, these figures do not account for taxes, license fees or any other deductions which may be taken from a fighter’s purse, nor do they include any sponsorship money or discretionary “locker room” bonuses which a promoter may issue.
