Kyle Watson Meets Former Sparring Partner John Makdessi At UFC 129 in Toronto

Former sparring partners Kyle Watson and John Makdessi have agreed to meet at UFC 129 in Toronto as a part of the night’s undecard.

The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the negotiations on Tuesday with bout agreements issued for the April contest. MMAJunkie.com initially reported the bout.

Watson and Makdessi have actually trained together in the past with the “Ultimate Fighter” season 12 competitor traveled north to Montreal to work with Georges St-Pierre ahead of his fight at UFC 124 against Josh Koscheck.

Makdessi worked as part of St-Pierre’s camp, and Watson was also there during that time to get ready for his fight at the TUF 12 finale show.

Watson was successful in his fight at the finale show, defeating former housemate Sako Chivitchyan by decision.

Makdessi was also successful in his only bout so far in the UFC, picking up a unanimous decision win over Pat Audinwood at UFC 124.

The welterweights will meet as a part of the UFC 129 undercard set to go down in Toronto on April 30.
