Krzysztof Jotko vs. Tor Troeng slated for UFC Fight Night 53 in Stockholm

A middleweight bout between Krzysztof Jotko (14-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Tor Troeng (16-6-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC) is the latest addition to October’s UFC Fight Night 53 card in Sweden.

UFC officials recently announced the bout.

UFC Fight Night 53 takes place Oct. 4 at Ericsson Globe in Stockholm. The event, which features a Gunnar Nelson vs. Rick Story headliner, is expected to stream on UFC Fight Pass.

Jotko opened his career with a 14-0 mark, which included a unanimous-decision victory over Bruno Santos in his late-2013 UFC debut. However, in his subsequent bout, the 24-year-old Polish fighter suffered a second-round submission loss to Magnus Cedenblad at UFC Fight Night 41 in May.

He now takes on Troeng, who’s likely in a must-win situation. The 31-year-old Swede posted a submission victory over Adam Cella in his early-2013 UFC debut, but the “TUF 17? cast member has since suffered back-to-back decision defeats to Rafael Natal and Trevor Smith. The Natal defeat, though, came with a “Fight of the Night” bonus.
