Four years into his MMA career and former Shooto star Kosuke “Rambo” Suzuki finally feels like he’s hitting his stride.
Suzuki’s current five-fight winning streak would seem to back up that assertion.
“I’m very happy with my performance during this streak,” Suzuki told MMAWeekly.com. “It is the best streak of my career and I want to keep it going.”
Having spent his entire career up to this point in Shooto, Suzuki will be making his ONE FC debut on Saturday in Jakarta, Indonesia.
For Suzuki, the move to ONE FC represents an opportunity to test himself against some of the best flyweights in the world.
“It is very exciting to come to ONE FC now,” he said. “They have all the top fighters from Asia and are adding many world class stars from around the world. I want to be champion, so I need to win this (upcoming) bout.”
When Suzuki (10-3-2) makes his ONE FC debut, he’ll be doing so against fellow former Shooto standout Adriano “Black Diamond” Moraes (10-1) in the evening’s main event.
“He is a very tough opponent,” said Suzuki of Moraes. “I have seen his fights and I think my plan is to outwork him in every department. I am prepared for hard fought battle.”
After his fight with Moraes, Suzuki’s goal is simple, keep on the path he’s on and go for gold.
“(I plan) to keep fighting and winning and becoming champion,” said Suzuki.
