Kimbo Slice Interview, “I Don’t Really Care Much About What People Say About Me”

At first, Kimbo Slice was simply an internet sensation made famous by street fighting videos that blew up, getting millions of hits on YouTube and other sites.

A few years later, Slice (real name Kevin Ferguson) was in EliteXC, headlining shows on CBS. Fast forward to even later and Slice was in the UFC, making his way into the promotion by way of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show.

No longer a mixed martial artist following his release from the UFC, Slice will embark on his new career in boxing, making his debut this weekend in Oklahoma against James Wade.

Throughout his career, Slice has been fodder for the media with some loving his story of street fighter turned cage fighter, while others lambasted him for never truly being a legit competitor and simply getting into promotions like the UFC and EliteXC because of his internet celebrity.

Through it all, Slice says he never really paid attention to any of it, and to this day still doesn’t.

“I don’t really care much about what people say about me cause they critics. I don’t give a (expletive) what somebody says about me. They can say what they want to say all day long, that (expletive) doesn’t phase me,” Slice said in an interview to retired UFC fighter Charles McCarthy in an interview with CageJunkies.com.

McCarthy sat down with Slice for an in depth interview just days away from his professional boxing debut where the Miami based fighter will look to resurrect his combat sports career.
