Justin Gaethje handed indefinite suspension for 'unsportsmanlike conduct' at WSOF 29

The Colorado State Boxing Commission has been taking lessons from the NFL, it appears. The CSBC handed Justin Gaethje an indefinite suspension for “unsportsmanlike conduct” for his trademark post-victory backflip.

According to a report at The MMA Report, Gaethje (16-0) was given written notification from the commission prior to the bout to not jump on the cage should he pick up the victory. That didn’t stop the lightweight champion from doing exactly that before executing a backflip following his first-round leg kick TKO of Brian Foster (25-9) in the evening’s main event (check out the Gaethje vs. Foster video highlights).

WSOF 29 took place at Bank of Colorado Arena in Greeley, Colo. The main card aired on NBCSN.

The CSBC channeling their inner “No Fun League” wasn’t the only issue raised after Gaethje’s victory. Former UFC superstar Chael Sonnen, who was on commentary for the event, called Gaethje’s leg attacks “dirty,” a claim Foster dismissed with a Facebook post.

Gaethje’s response to the claims that his low kicks weren’t above board when speaking to MMAjunkie Radio was simple.

“Whatever, dude,” he said.
