Jimi Manuwa Takes Home Bonus for Main Event Knockout (UFC London Bonuses) | MMAWeekly.com

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the fighter bonuses stemming from Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Manuwa vs. Anderson event at The O2 Arena in London.  Four fighters: Marc Diakiese, Marlon Vera, Gunnar Nelson and Jimi Manuwa took home the $50,000 performance-based incentives.

Manuwa was awarded a bonus for his first-round knockout of Corey Anderson in the fight card’s main event.  Manuwa, known for his knockout power, landed a left hook that sent Anderson crashing to the canvas just past the midway mark in the opening frame.  It was a one-punch knockout and Manuwa’s 15th career knockout win.

Nelson earned a Performance of the Night bonus for his second-round submission of Alan Jouban in the co-main event.  Nelson utilized his grappling ability in the first round to get Jouban to the ground.  The first round ended with Nelson mouting Jouban and landing punches and elbows.  Jouban came out aggressive in the second frame, but it backfired.  Nelson landed a straight right hand that put Jouban on shaky legs.  He drug Jouban to the canvas while locking on a guillotine choke that ended the fight.

Vera banked a bonus for his third-round finish of Brad Pickett on the main card.  Vera may have been down on the judges’ scorecards when he landed a head kick that flattened Pickett late in the final frame.  He followed up with a right hand before the referee stepped in to stop the fight.  It was Pickett’s final fight.

The final bonus went to Diakiese for his first-round knockout over Teemu Packalén on the preliminary fight card.  Diakiese predicted a first-round knockout and delivered.  After employing an attack of spinning kicks, Diakiese stepped in with a right hand that left Pakalen stiff on his back.

The 11-fight card featured seven decisions, three knockouts and one submission finish.
