Jianping Yang-Guangyou Ning ‘TUF: China’ Featherweight Final Postponed Due to Injury

The featherweight final of the initial season of “The Ultimate Fighter: China” between Jianping Yang and Guangyou Ning has been postponed to a later date.

The UFC announced the news on Monday, citing an injury as the reason for the postponement. Whether it was Yang or Ning who suffered the injury and the nature of the ailment were not disclosed. A bantamweight matchup pitting Nam Phan against Vaughn Lee has been promoted to the show’s main card, although the entire UFC Fight Night 37 lineup will stream on UFC Fight Pass.

UFC Fight Night 37 takes place at Cotai Arena in Macau, China, and is headlined by a welterweight clash between Dong Hyun Kim and John Hathaway.

Yang, 28, was one of the more experienced competitors on the reality show with 10 professional bouts. The Fight Emperor product was victorious in six of those contests, with four submissions and two TKO triumphs. He last competed in May 2013, submitting Steve Brown with a first-round armbar at Real Fight MMA Championship 2.

A veteran of six professional fights, the 32-year-old Ning’s last action also came in May, when he scored a second-round TKO victory over Zhouwen Jian at Ranik Ultimate Fighting Federation 9. “Smasher” has three career victories – two via submission as well as the aforementioned TKO.
