Jason High vs. Anthony Lapsley tapped final UFC 167 addition

jason-high-4.jpgA welterweight bout between Jason High (17-4 MMA, 1-2 UFC) and Anthony Lapsley (22-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC) is the latest addition to the UFC’s 20th anniversary show, UFC 167.

UFC officials today announced it as the 12th and final addition to the card.

UFC 167 takes place Nov. 16 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and Facebook.

High vs. Lapsley is likely to be part of the prelims.

High, a standout amateur wrestler now in his second UFC stint, recently rebounded from a loss to Erick Silva with a submission victory over James Head at UFC Fight Night 27. The 32-year-old, a former DREAM and Strikeforce fighter, was cut after a single loss to Charlie Brenneman in 2010, but he fought his way back into the UFC. With the Head win, he’s now 8-1 since the Brenneman defeat.

Lapsley, a fellow wrestler who’s competed for organizations such as Bellator and EliteXC and KOTC, makes his UFC debut on the strength of a recent 8-1 run. In January he scored a submission victory over Gerald Meerschaert (15-6 at the time) at a regional show in Ohio. In 22 career wins, he owns 15 submissions and three knockouts.
