UFC veteran Keith Jardine will fill in for the injured Mike Kyle to face Dream light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi at April 9’s Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Daley.”

News of Kyle’s broken right hand came to light earlier in the week, and Showtime broadcaster Mauro Ranallo announced the new pairing during the network’s broadcast of Strikeforce Challengers 15 Friday night.

Jardine (17-9-1) has won two of three since being released by the UFC following four straight defeats, and last saw action in a first-round technical knockout of Aron Lofton at Fresquez Productions “Double Threat” on March 4.

Mousasi, 30-3-1, has won 17 of 18 bouts, only dropping a decision to Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal in the four-year run.

Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Daley” will go down at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif., and will be headlined by a welterweight title bout pitting champion Nick Diaz against No. 1 contender Paul Daley. Showtime will air the card live on the East Coast at 10 p.m. ET. West Coast viewers can watch the bill at 10 p.m. PT.
