What is arguably the most star-studded Cage Warriors event this year has some added depth with the addition of a welterweight bout between Jack Mason (24-11) and Bruno “B.C.” Carvalho (15-6).
Officials today announced the matchup.
Cage Warriors 57 takes place July 20 at Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. The main card streams on MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) following prelims on Facebook.
Mason vs. Carvalho is slated for the main card.
“Beating Carvalho is going to put me right up there in the rankings and vying for title contention,” Mason stated. “He called me out after my last two fights, and he’s now been granted his wish. All I have to say to him is be careful what you wish for.”
Mason is riding a four-fight winning streak with seven victories in his past eight fights. Most of the bouts have come with Cage Warriors, where he scored a TKO win over Matt Inman in March and a decision victory over Collin Reuter in May.
The Englishman now takes on Brazilian-born Carvalho, who made his promotional debut in October following a 9-1 run in a variety of organizations. He then suffered a decision loss to Cathal Pendred, but in March, he rebounded with a TKO win over Steven Dinsdale.
The latest Cage Warriors 57 card now includes:
