Hideo Tokoro vs. Will Campuzano Headline VTJ 3rd

Hideo TokoroSince its resurrection last year, Vale Tudo Japan (VTJ) has put on some of the strongest cards in the country using some of the top fighters from different promotions, including Shooto and Pancrase.

VTJ 3rd is set for the Ota City Gymnasium in Tokyo on Oct. 3. It will be headlined by a bantamweight bout between the highly experienced Hideo Tokoro and UFC and WEC veteran Will Campuzano.

Tokoro (30-25-2) has been on every single VTJ card since the promotion returned last year and has won his last two fights. Campuzano (12-4) has not lost a fight since being released by the UFC in early 2010 after going 0-2 inside the Octagon.

Two more fights were announced by VTJ this week. In the featherweight division, Akiyo Nishiura (11-8-1) will be looking to snap a three-fight losing streak when he takes on Sengoku and Shooto veteran Shigeki Osawa (9-4-2-1).

Lightweights collide when seasoned veteran Naoyuki Kotani (31-10-7) – who has fought the likes of Roger Huerta, Dennis Siver and Koji Oishi – puts his 11-fight winning streak on the line against Daisuke Hoshino (8-6-1).

The event is also set to feature two Japanese MMA stalwarts that will be facing as yet unnamed opponents. Megumi Fujii (26-2) will be fighting for the final time and Caol Uno (28-16-5) will be looking to score his third consecutive win.
