Olympic gold medalist and undefeated MMA prospect Henry Cejudo (5-0) will meet fellow unbeaten flyweight Elias Garcia (4-0) in next month’s Legacy FC 27 co-headliner.
Legacy FC promoter Mick Maynard confirmed the booking with MMAjunkie.
Legacy FC 27 takes place Jan. 31 at Houston’s Arena Theatre. The main card airs on AXS TV.
Cejudo, who won his gold medal in 2008 in freestyle wrestling, turned pro in March and quickly racked up a 5-0 record. However, he scratched from a recent Legacy FC 25 co-headliner due to a stomach flu. The 26-year-old had posted four first-round stoppages before an October decision victory over Ryan Hollis (4-1 at the time), his most accomplished opponent to date.
He gets another step up in competition against Garcia, who’s undefeated as a pro after a lengthy amateur career. Most recently, the 27-year-old scored a majority-decision victory over MTV “Caged” star Matt Schnell in March.
The latest Legacy FC 27 card now includes:
MAIN CARD (AXS TV, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (Untelevised, 8 p.m. ET)
