It appears the official announcement about UFC fighters sharing space with American Idol, Family Guy, and Sons of Anarchy may be less than 24 hours away.

On Tuesday, news reports first began to surface that the UFC had struck a deal with Fox on a new multi-year agreement to move over to the network in 2012.

According to sources, the deal would include up to four UFC shows on FOX’s flagship network station per year, as well as programming like “The Ultimate Fighter” and other UFC shows moving over to FX and the FOX owned Fuel TV.

It appears now the two companies are just about ready to announce the deal.

It was released on Wednesday by John Ourand from Sports Business Daily that Fox executives were in Los Angeles for a press conference scheduled for Thursday afternoon that would be “one of the biggest announcements in FOX Sports history.”

UFC president Dana White has also flown to Los Angeles, as he confirmed via his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Now several sources have confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that some of the UFC’s top fighters have been called in to appear in Los Angeles this week with names including UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre, lightweight champion Frankie Edgar, and current top light heavyweight contender Rashad Evans.

The fighters are either en route or already in Los Angeles for an appearance, although at this time details are vague, at least to them, as to what the public relations obligation will entail.

All signs are pointing towards an announcement that will confirm the UFC signing the deal with Fox that will put the MMA giant on the network for the next several years.

MMAWeekly.com will be in attendance for the press conference being held in Los Angeles on Thursday and will have more details when they are available.
