Former UFC Public Relations Director Jen Wenk Signs On to Work with Jones, Evans, Condit and Others

Former Public Relations Director for the UFC Jen Wenk along with her firm StarPR have signed on to represent the fighters from Authentic Sports Management including Jon “Bones” Jones, Rashad Evans and Carlos Condit.

Wenk worked with the UFC for the past six years in her role as lead PR director, handling most major interview requests and set ups for the athletes as well as UFC president Dana White. The reason for her exit from the UFC is unknown, but she has now started her own PR firm and will continue to work in the MMA world.

“I am honored to have worked for the UFC and with owners and visionaries Lorenzo J. Fertitta and Dana White for the last six years,” said Wenk. “I only hope to continue my good public relations work in representing this dynamic new management company and many of the organization’s top fighters, including the new UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones, former UFC champion Rashad Evans and more. “

Authentic Sports Management works with several fighters in the industry including Jones, Evans, and Condit as well as Kenny Florian, Alan Belcher and Thiago Alves.

Co-owner Malki Kawa heard the news that Wenk had left the UFC and was starting her own PR firm and immediately made the call to see about getting her on board to represent their athletes.

“I enjoyed working with her, she was awesome, always handled everything professionally, always took care of us, always took care of the fighters. I was surprised to hear she was leaving the UFC, but when I heard that was the case I said ‘would you like to come in on this level?” Kawa said about hiring Wenk.

“I contacted Dana, Dana gave me his blessing and said absolutely and that’s all she wrote.”

Wenk will handle all of the day to day public relations for the fighters at Authentic Sports Management including interview requests and appearances.

“Sometimes you’ve just got the let the professionals do what they do,” Kawa stated. “She’s good at that, she was good at the UFC, who am I to compare myself to the UFC? She was good enough to do it for them and she knows how they work, and knows all the media as well. She knows who’s good media, she knows bad media, she knows who the right people are and she’s got amazing contacts outside of just MMA for media.”

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones echoed similar sentiments after working with Wenk for the past couple of years during his time with the promotion.

“It’s a pleasure and an honor to have Jen Wenk, one of the best in the business, now on my team,” Jones commented.

Wenk will begin her role as PR director for the fighters at Authentic Sports Management immediately.
