Bellator returns to Memphis this week, and on Wednesday fans can check out a unique opportunity to see a pair of the event’s stars in action – alongside a pro wrestling Hall of Famer.
Bellator 162 takes place Friday at FedEx Forum in Memphis. The main card will air on Spike following prelims on MMAjunkie. Ahead of the card, co-main event heavyweight and former pro wrestler Bobby Lashley (14-2 MMA, 4-0 BMMA) and the debuting Kevin Ferguson Jr. (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) will work out for the fans in Memphis on Wednesday.
The workouts will take place at King Jerry Lawler’s Hall of Fame Bar & Grille at 159 Beale St. in Memphis, just around the corner from FedEx Forum. The restaurant is owned by pro wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, who will be on hand to meet fans, as well.
“Baby Slice” Ferguson will work out at 6 p.m. CT local time, followed by Lashley at 6:45 p.m. The fighters also will meet the media and fans. The event is free and open to the public.
Lashley takes on Josh Appelt (12-5 MMA, 3-1 BMMA) in the heavyweight co-feature, and he’ll be going after his fifth win under the Bellator banner and eighth straight overall. In November 2015, he took out James Thompson in less than a minute at Bellator 145. (Check out the highlights from that win in the video above.)
Ferguson, son of the late Kimbo Slice, will be making his pro MMA debut after seeing his first fight delayed due to injury earlier this year.
The full Bellator 162 card includes:
MAIN CARD (Spike, 9 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (MMAjunkie, 6:45 p.m. ET)
