Duane “Bang” Ludwig is preparing for the biggest fight of his career. He squares off with “Ultimate Fighter 7? winner Amir Sadollah at UFC on Versus 5 on Aug. 14 in Milwaukee, Wisc.
This is the first of four episodes following Ludwig as he trains for the fight. The first week focuses on a new strength training program at FORZA Fitness, a state of the art facility co-owned by Steve Hess, an Assistant Coach focusing on Strength and Conditioning for the Denver Nuggets. Many of Denvers top athletes from the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, and Colorado Avalanche train at FORZA for their individual programs.
“It’s been amazing (training at FORZA). This place is great. Rusty (his strength coach) is putting me through the paces and I feel way stronger. My balance is better. It is really helping me in MMA training, too,” said Ludwig about his new program. “I am now training like a true professional athlete; my sport just happens to involve punching people in the face.”
“Duane has always trained harder and more intense then anyone I know. Now the fans can see a glimpse of what goes into his camp. It’s been a long ride with Duane from K-1 to Strikeforce to UFC. But he is 100 percent and this is his year,” exclaimed Bean. “We have a plan in place for him and it all starts August 14th with Amir. Big things are coming for BANG!”
