Ellenberger vs. Kampmann Set as No. 1 Contender’s Bout; Headlines TUF Live Finale

Jake Ellenberger UFC 126
The first ever Ultimate Fighter Live finale card has officially been announced for June 1 at the Pearl at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas. A No. 1 contender’s match will headline the show.

Jake Ellenberger, fresh off his latest win over Diego Sanchez in February, will battle Xtreme Couture fighter Martin Kampmann with a shot at the UFC welterweight title on the line.

“The welterweight division is stacked and Jake Ellenberger and Martin Kampmann are going to fight for the chance to earn a title shot,” UFC president Dana White said on Monday. “They will headline the season finale of TUF Live on FX to crown the next Ultimate Fighter. There’s a lot at stake for the guys competing on this card at the Palms.”

Kampmann is coming back from a big win as well after submitting Thiago Alves in the main event of UFC on FX 2 in Australia in early March.

Now Ellenberger and Kampmann will face off in a five round main event bout to determine the next title challenger in the welterweight division. The winner will then wait for the proposed title bout coming up later this year between UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre and interim champion Carlos Condit.

In addition to the No. 1 contender’s bout leading the card, The Ultimate Fighter Live season finale will also crown the new TUF Live champion.

The season is ongoing currently airing live on FX every Friday night, which will culminate in a lightweight bout to crown the new show champion.

Coaches Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber have been battling it out already this season, and with three fights down thus far, there’s still a lot of action left until the finale comes around on June 1 in Las Vegas.

Tickets for the June 1 show will go on sale April 13 at 12pm PT, and UFC Fight Club members will have access to tickets as of April 11 at 10am PT. Tickets will be priced at $104, $204 and $354.
