Former Ultimate Fighter winner Diego Brandao has been campaigning to compete on the upcoming UFC 153 card in Brazil and it looks like he finally got his wish.
Brandao announced via Twitter on Monday that he will face fellow featherweight Joey Gambino at the show slated to land in Rio de Janeiro on Oct 13.
Following a successful run to become the Ultimate Fighter season 14 champion, Brandao returned to the Octagon for the first time in May at UFC 146.
Unfortunately, Brandao came up just short against Darren Elkins, losing via decision and now he’ll look to exact a bit of revenge when he returns in October.
Facing Brandao in his home country will be 2nd time UFC fighter Joey Gambino.
Gambino made his debut at UFC on FX 4 in Atlantic City in June, and ran into a hurricane as former Ultimate Fighter competitor Steven Siler took him apart and finished the fight in the first round.
Gambino will hope to avoid two losses in a row when he faces Brandao in Brazil coming up in October.
