This month’s UFC on FOX 19 lineup got a small shakeup, and it’s resulted in a new bout to close out the UFC Fight Pass prelims.
Although initially slated for the FOX-televised prelims, a women’s bantamweight bout between former title challenger Bethe Correia (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) and Raquel Pennington (6-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) instead will close out the UFC Fight Pass prelims, official today announced (via Twitter):
UFC on FOX 19 takes place April 16 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. Following early prelims on UFC on FOX 19, the remaining prelims and the main card air on FOX.
With a renewed commitment to UFC Fight Pass, officials have booked some quality fights for the digital network in recent months. Correia, who hasn’t fought since her August 2015 title loss to then-champ Ronda Rousey, takes the featured slot opposite Pennington, who submitted Jessica Andrade in a “Performance of the Night” effort in her most recent bout.
When officials initially announced the finalized UFC on FOX 19 lineup, a welterweight bout between Court McGee (17-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) and Santiago Ponzinibbio (21-3 MMA, 3-2 UFC) was in the final UFC Fight Pass slot. That fight now serves as the FOX opener.
The full UFC on FOX 19 card includes:
MAIN CARD (FOX, 8 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX, 6 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 4 p.m. ET)
