Conor McGregor calls Tyron Woodley's bluff, verbally attacks him backstage at UFC 205 weigh-ins

UFC featherweight champ Conor McGregor made sure to call welterweight champ Tyron Woodley’s bluff on insulting him in person – he did just that prior to UFC 205’s ceremonial weigh-ins.

The UFC’s Spanish-language Twitter account caught the run-in as Saturday’s competitors lined up for photo opportunities at Madison Square Garden in New York City, which hosts the event. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

“Get your little camera phone,” McGregor (20-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) said as a security official restrained him. “(Expletive). You’re like a woman. You’re like a woman with that phone. (Expletive) (expletive). (Expletive)(expletive).”

Woodley (16-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) had told (http://mmajunkie.com/2016/11/champs-conor-mcgregor-tyron-woodley-clash-on-twitter-following-ufc-205-weigh-ins-incident) McGregor “never call me a (expletive) again” after McGregor declared – on Twitter – “Twitter (expletive) you’ll do nothing.”

Woodley seemed to challenge McGregor to do something about it in person, writing, “funny how you was dead ass quiet on stage and didn’t say (expletive) about getting these paws. But call me a bitch on twitter.”

Backstage at MSG, however, Woodley did not take the bait, turning his back to the featherweight champ and ignoring him.

The whole thing seemed to kick off Friday morning after they officially weighed in for UFC 205. McGregor eyed Woodley as he hit the rehydration station made available to athletes after they hit the scales, and afterward they went off to the races on social media.

Is McGregor eyeing another trip to 170 pounds? It wouldn’t be the featherweight champ’s trip northward after a pair of meetings with Nate Diaz, the first of which ended in a highly publicized humbling before revenge five months later.

Woodley puts his welterweight strap on the line against Stephen Thompson (13-1 MMA, 8-1 UFC) on Saturday in the co-main event, while McGregor attempts to become the first multi-division champ in a headliner opposite Eddie Alvarez (28-4 MMA, 3-1 UFC).

But if McGregor decides to go hunting for yet another belt, it appears Woodley’s got a ready-made contender.
