A pair of bantamweights have agreed to meet at UFC 129 in Toronto. Charlie Valencia gets back in action against Ivan Menjivar on April 30.
The bout was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the negotiations on Friday. MMAJunkie.com initially reported the contest.
Valencia (12-6) moves over to the UFC after spending the last few years exclusively in the WEC. The California based fighter went 3-1 in his last four fights with the promotion, with his only loss coming to former bantamweight champion Miguel Torres last September.
Facing off against Valencia will be veteran fighter Ivan Menjivar (21-8), reappearing in the UFC for the first time since 2004 in a fight against Matt Serra.
Menjivar took some time away from MMA before returning in 2010, and made his lone appearance for the WEC in December, losing a “Fight of the Night” performance against Brad Pickett.
The bout between Valencia and Menjivar will likely be part of the UFC 129 untelevised undercard.
