“The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” tournament finale that never happened will finally take place at November’s UFC Fight Night 32 event.
UFC officials today announced that middleweights Cezar “Mutante” Ferreira (6-2 MMA, 2-0) and Daniel Sarafian (8-3 MMA, 1-1 UFC) will meet in the co-main event of the Nov. 9 event, which takes place at Goiania Arena in Goiania, Goias, Brazil, and airs on FOX Sports 1.
The card is headlined by a light-heavyweight rematch between Vitor Belfort and Dan Henderson.
Ferreira and Sarafian both earned their way to the finals of the 2012 debut season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil.” However, Sarafian injured his elbow while training for the contest and was forced to withdraw from the bout, which took place at UFC 147. Semifinalist Sergio Moraes took his place but suffered a decision loss to Ferriera.
Sarafian made his official UFC debut in January and suffered a surprising split-decision loss to C.B. Dollaway. However, he rebounded in June with a first-round submission win over Eddie Mendez.
Meanwhile, Ferreira earned the title of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil” winner with his victory over Moraes. Injury forced “Mutante” to the sidelines for more than one year, but he returned to action in August, where he earned a first-round submission win over Thiago Santos at UFC 163.
A Vitor Belfort-protege, Ferreira now fights on the same card as his protege for the first time.
