Cat Zingano and Miesha Tate have a lot on the line when they step into the Octagon at Saturday’s TUF 17 Finale in Las Vegas. Not only are they picking up the torch for women’s MMA from Ronda Rousey and Liz Carmouche, but they’re also fighting for a TUF 18 coaching spot opposite Rousey this fall, a fact not lost on Zingano.
“This is almost like my way of getting a fight to get into the fighter house,” she remarked at Thursday’s open workouts. “Just like all these other fighters are coming in, mine is just a little more high profile. A lot more at stake.
“It’s all a little bit backwards to what I imagined, but I love it.”
