Cage Warriors signs four U.K.-based fighters to exclusive deals

Cage Warriors has expanded its roster with the signing of four prospects in three different divisions.

U.K. fighters Brian Moore (6-1), Jordan Desborough (5-2), Dave Graham (3-1) and Mario Saeed (4-1) all have signed exclusive five-fight deals with the promotion.

Cage Warriors officials recently announced the deals for the four fighters, though they have not yet been added to any upcoming fight cards.

Moore will join Cage Warriors’ featherweight division riding a three-fight win streak since the only loss of his pro career, a unanimous decision setback to eventual UFC fighter Mike Wilkinson. Moore’s teammates at SBG Ireland in Dublin include former Cage Warriors two-division champion and current UFC fighter Conor McGregor, Cage Warriors welterweight champ Cathal Pendred and former Cage Warriors champ Chris Fields. His six wins include three submissions.

Desborough, a lightweight, has won three of his past four fights after a loss to the UFC’s Brendan Loughnane two years ago, though he’s been inactive for a little more than a year. In April 2012, he stopped Nathan Thompson with a first-round rear-naked choke to get back in the win column after a third-round knockout loss in September 2011.

Graham, a middleweight, has all three of his pro wins by stoppage, and in April he scored a 12-second TKO win at an Ultimate Cage Championships event in his native England. He followed that up a month ago with a second-round knockout win. His pro debut in April 2012 was a first-round submission under the UCC banner.

Saeed’s teammates at England’s Trojan Freefighters camp include former UFC welterweight and current Cage Warriors fighter Che Mills. Saeed has all four of his wins by submission – all by armbar. He opened his pro career in February 2012 with a stoppage of Paul Temple. After a loss about a year ago, the lightweight has rattled off three more armbars, a pair of which came in the first round.

“We’re always keen to sign top established fighters, but bringing in talent for the future is equally as important,” Cage Warriors CEO Graham Boylan stated. “That’s what we’ve done here, and it’s what we’ll continue to do.”
