CSAC: Ronda Rousey, Sarah Kaufman Pass Drug Screens Following Aug. 18 Title Bout

Drug screens for Ronda Rousey and Sarah Kaufman came back negative following their bantamweight title clash at Strikeforce “Rousey vs. Kaufman,” Sherdog.com confirmed with the California State Athletic Commission on Thursday.

Rousey and Kaufman were both tested for steroids and drugs of abuse following their Aug. 18 bout, which took place at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif. The main event combatants were the only two of the event’s 18 competitors to be tested. The CSAC randomly selects fighters for testing at each mixed martial arts event.

Rousey retained her belt by submitting Kaufman with an armbar 54 seconds into the opening frame for her sixth victory since becoming a professional in 2011. Kaufman, who faces Kaitlin Young at Invicta FC 3 in October, had a three-fight winning streak snapped.
