Brandon Thatch vs. Stephen Thompson booked for Feb. 14 UFC event in Colorado

Brandon Thatch is set for a big homecoming fight on Valentine’s Day.

Thatch (11-1 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has been booked for a welterweight bout against Stephen Thompson (10-1 MMA, 5-1 UFC) on Feb. 14 at the UFC’s “Fight Night” event in Broomfield, Colo. Thatch is a native of nearby Denver and calls the area’s Grudge Training Center his home base. UFC officials announced the new fight on Thursday.

The Feb. 14 event takes place at 1STBANK Center. Broadcast plans haven’t been confirmed, though the main card is expected to air on FOX Sports 1.

With the addition to the lineup, the UFC’s trip to Broomfield now includes:

• Max Holloway vs. Cole Miller
• Tim Elliott vs. Zach Makovsky
• Ray Borg vs. Chris Kelades
• Brandon Thatch vs. Stephen Thompson
