Fighting for the second time in just three weeks, heavyweight Bobby Lashley (8-2) meets Brad Kohler-trained Matthew Larson (2-2).
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today confirmed with promotion officials that the two will meet on the main card of Saturday’s pay-per-view broadcast Global Warrior Challenge event, entitled “The British Invasion: U.S. vs. U.K.”
The fight card takes place at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. The evening’s pay-per-view broadcast starts at 9 p.m. ET and is available for $29.95 on iN DEMAND, Avail-TVN, DIRECTV, and DISH Network.
Lashley, a two-time Strikeforce veteran and former WWE superstar, returns to action just three weeks after earning a submission win over Kevin Asplund in the headlining bout of a June 7 Titan Fighting Championship event. He meets Larson who went 2-0 as an amateur fighter before turning professional in 2012. He’s since earned two submission wins but dropped two bouts by TKO.
The Global Warrior Challenge event features several big-show veterans, including L.C. Davis, Drew Fickett, Kendall Grove, Ricco Rodriguez and Andre Winner.
In the night’s main event, Asplund also returns in short order to take on two-time UFC veteran and British strongman champion Oli Thompson.
