Bellator's Jordan Parsons Has Full Leg Amputated After Hit-and-Run Collision

Bellator's Jordan Parsons Has Full Leg Amputated After Hit-and-Run Collision

Jordan Parsons, 25, a fighter competing in Bellator MMA's featherweight division, has lost his entire right leg after falling victim to a hit-and-run vehicle collision early Sunday morning in Florida.

MMA Fighting originally reported part of Parsons' leg was amputated, but MMA reporter Ariel Helwani reported on Monday that doctors removed his entire leg after his organs began to fail during heart surgery. Helwani passed along the news after speaking with Glenn Robinson, who heads the Blackzilians camp where Parsons trains (h/t Nick Baldwin of Bloody Elbow):

According to MMA Fighting, Parsons was in critical condition at Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, Florida. The full extent of his injuries remains unclear.

His scheduled May 14 bout with Adam Piccolotti was canceled.

Investigators with the Delray Beach Police Department are still searching for the perpetrator but announced a break in the case via Twitter Monday: the make and model of the suspect's vehicle:

Parsons' fighting career is likely over as a result of the collision. If that is the case, his career would end with a professional record of 11-2, including a 2-1 mark in Bellator.

Parsons' family set up a GoFundMe page to help offset Parsons' medical costs.
