Headliners Muhammed Lawal and Seth Petruzelli checked in at 205.2 and 204.8 pounds, respectively, while Renato “Babalu” Sobral tipped the scales at 204.4. Sobral’s opponent, Jacob Noe, initially weighed in at 206.2 pounds but eventually hit the 206-pound limit, according to Bellator.
Bellator 96 takes place Wednesday at Winstar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla., and the evening’s main card airs live on Spike TV following the preliminary card stream on Spike.com.
The opening round of the four-man heavyweight tournament will also be featured during the Spike TV broadcast, as last-minute replacement Ryan Martinez (263.8) locks horns with two-time tournament finalist Richard Hale (240.1) and undefeated Vitaly Minakov (246) faces the heavy-handed Ron Sparks (264.6).
Controversial welterweight War Machine (170) will also return to action on Wednesday night, when the UFC alum finally makes his Bellator debut against WEC veteran Blas Avena (170). War Machine has not competed since November 2011 and now enters the cage six months after a torn knee ligament and broken fibula knocked him out of the Season 8 bracket.
