Bellator 93 Gets Welterweight Finals, Marcus Davis, Michael Page in Inaugural Trip to Maine

Bellator will visit the state of Maine for the first time on March 21, when the Viacom-owned promotion hosts Bellator 93 from the The Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston.

Bellator 93 will showcase the to-be-determined finals of the ongoing Season 8 welterweight tournament and will also feature UFC veteran and Maine native Marcus Davis taking on a to-be-announced opponent. Unbeaten English prospect Michael Page will also see action that night, though the Brit’s opponent has also yet to be revealed. The evening’s main card airs live on Spike TV, while the preliminary proceedings stream immediately prior on Spike.com and Bellator.com.

Davis, 39, has won four of his last five fights since receiving his UFC release in January 2011. Though “The Irish Hand Grenade” competed five times that year, he fought just once in 2012, notching a unanimous decision win over fellow Octagon alum David Bielkheden this past October at Superior Challenge 8 in Sweden.

Known for his wide-open striking game, Page, 25, made the transition from kickboxing to MMA last year and wiped the floor with his first three opponents, needing just over five minutes of combined cage time to finish all three men. “Venom” was last seen in November, earning a technical knockout via doctor’s stoppage over previously unbeaten Egyptian welterweight Haitham Tantawy at SFL 7.
