Marcin Held (Pictured) recently suffered an undisclosed injury and will be unable to compete as expected on March 7 at Bellator 92. As a result, the Polish prospect’s showdown with Dave Jansen will instead take place March 21 at Bellator 93. Sherdog.com confirmed the development Tuesday with a source close to the bout following an initial report from MMAJunkie.com.
The lightweight pairing was initially supposed to take place last year at Bellator 84, but the booking was delayed when Held -- only 20 years old at the time -- was not allowed to enter Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind.
Despite losing the Jansen-Held matchup, Bellator 92 will feature the Season 8 middleweight and featherweight semifinals at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, Calif. The evening’s Spike TV-broadcast main card will see Sultan Aliev and Doug Marshall compete in one middleweight semifinal, while Brett Cooper and Dan Cramer will do battle on the other side of the bracket. At 145 pounds, Alexandre Bezerra will meet Mike Richman, and Magomedrasul Khasbulaev will square off with Marlon Sandro to decide who will compete for a shot at the featherweight title.
