Bellator 47 on Saturday night delivered solid ratings with its two-hour telecast on MTV2. The show drew 261,000 viewers, making it the second-most watch Bellator event since the promotion entered into a partnership with MTV2 starting with Season 4.
Bellator 47 was the second installment of the promotion’s three-episode Summer Series. The draw was well above Bellator 46, which pulled in an average audience of 185,000 viewers. It also topped the Season 4 average of 215,000 viewers per episode.
Pat Curran defeated Ronnie Mann and Marlon Sandro bested Nazareno Malegarie in the two feature fights at Bellator 47. The victories move Curran and Sandro into the finals of the Bellator Summer Series Featherweight Tournament, which will take place at Bellator 48 on Aug. 20 in Connecticut.
Bellator 47 was also the promotion’s first event on Canadian soil.
