Former UFC champion B.J. Penn appears to be making himself comfortable at Jackson-Wink MMA in Albuquerque, N.M.
Penn (16-10-2 MMA, 12-9-2 UFC) revealed earlier this week that he’s hoping to end his retirement and make a return to the octagon at UFC 197 on March 5. He extended a formal challenge to rival and lightweight Nik Lentz (25-7-2 MMA, 9-4-1 UFC), but it appears “The Carny” isn’t interested in having the fight at UFC 197, which is schedule to take place less than two months from now.
Regardless, Penn has left his longtime training confines in his native Hawaii and gone to one of the world’s most established gyms to further work on his skills. It appears the fighters from the camp have welcomed “The Prodigy” with open arms; his presence has been shared all over social media by the likes of UFC champ Holly Holm, ex-champ Jon Jones, former opponent Diego Sanchez, recent title challenger Donald Cerrone and plenty of others.
Check below to see some photos from how Penn is enjoying his first few days at Jackson-Wink MMA.
