Anjela Pink says she's not intimidated to make her professional debut at Bellator 152

TURIN, Italy – Anjela Pink has never stepped into a cage as a professional MMA fighter. But when Bellator called and asked her to make that debut on a televised card in Italy, the flyweight had no hesitation.

“It was a surprise phone call,” Pink said. “‘Hey, I’ve got a fight for you in Italy on Bellator. Do you want it?’

“I said, ‘Of course I want it.'”

Pink (0-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) was certainly a surprise candidate to be on the featured portion of Bellator’s first international event, but she now meets fellow flyweight Anastasia Yankova (2-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) at Bellator 152. The card takes place at Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy, and airs on Spike.

Pink does own two bouts of amateur experience, but that hardly prepares one for the spotlight. Still, Pink said she’s found fight week in Italy to be just fine – well, at least her thoughts on the actual time in the cage.

“The fight, itself, is not overwhelming at all,” Pink said. “I love to fight. Everything else, so far, like the interviews and things that I haven’t done before, that’s a little bit overwhelming.”

But those responsibilities are now behind. All that remains is Yankova, a former kickboxing champ who is still relatively new to MMA.

Pink kept herself from saying too much ahead of her professional debut, but she doesn’t seem to think Yankova is going to provide that much of a challenge.

“I’ve watched both of her MMA fights,” Pink said. “I didn’t really watch a whole lot of video. I focused more on what I wanted to do and what I’m going to do in the fight. So from what I’ve seen – I mean, it’s hard for me. I try and stay humble.

“I don’t really like to talk badly about other people, but I guess we’ll just see how it goes.”
