Anderson Silva rep wants rematch with Michael Bisping, who has eye on Nick Diaz

As a “solution” to Anderson Silva’s decision loss to Michael Bisping at this past Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 84, Silva’s rep is proposing a rematch in the ex-champ’s native country.

Ed Soares, Silva’s longtime manager and translator, on Sunday posted to Instagram a picture of the middleweights with the caption, “I don’t agree with the decision but tell me what you think of this solution. Rematch in Brazil, if @spiderandersonsilva (wins) we have the Trilogy in Vegas?”

Despite a previous rant at Silva (33-7 MMA, 16-3 UFC) for steroid use, Bisping (28-7 MMA, 18-7 UFC) heaped praise on the ex-champ following their five-round fight, which streamed live on Fight Pass from The O2 in London.

But it appears Bisping might already have moved on to another target – Nick Diaz (26-10 MMA, 7-7 UFC).

Predictably, the former Strikeforce champ wasn’t all that impressed by Bisping’s performance, using a meme to express his opinion on Twitter. That didn’t escape the Brit’s attention.

“Hey @nickdiaz209 see your (sic) talking (expletive),” he wrote on Twitter. “Don’t be bitter cos I beat somebody you couldn’t. Thought you were cooler than that. Obviously wrong.”

“I’d of thought @nickdiaz209 would be more concerned about the beating his bro is gonna get next week, rather than looking for his own,” he then added.

Diaz just recently was cleared of a suspension stemming from a decision loss to Silva at UFC 183, which resulted in positive drug tests for both fighters. An original five-year ban for Diaz’s third marijuana suspension was reduced to 18 months, freeing the native of Stockton, Calif., to continue his career.

That makes calling out Diaz more than simply hot air. And while Bisping clarified that he didn’t previously have a problem with Diaz, he’d be more than happy to settle any developing one.

“For the record I like @nickdiaz209 I’ve always been a fan,” Bisping wrote. “But if wants to throw down I’m in.”

A certified “needle-mover,” Diaz is a perfect opponent for Bisping in lieu of a title shot. Given the waiting list of potential middleweight contenders, the Brit would be smart to build on his recent momentum with a win over a popular fighter.

First, of course, Bisping has to heal up and be cleared by doctors after serving his current medical suspension.

Silva’s rep would rather run things back. But after nearly getting knocked out on two occasions, only to win on points, it’s hard to imagine Bisping welcomes that prospect.
