The newest fight to be added to the upcoming Strikeforce card in Cincinnati, OH will be a women’s bout between Amanda Nunes and Alexis Davis.
Sources close to the content confirmed the fight to MMAWeekly.com with bout agreements issued for the new match-up.
Amanda Nunes returns to action after an injury sidelined her from fighting back in June. Now healthy, Nunes hopes to build on her win over rising star Julia Budd from earlier this year.
Facing Nunes in Cincinnati will be 10-4 pro Alexis Davis, fresh off her win over Julie Kedzie at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson.
Davis has won her last two fights in a row and hopes to move that streak to three when she faces Nunes in September.
The bout between Nunes and Davis is expected to take place on the preliminary portion of the show, headlined by the semifinals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.
