All UFC on FX 8 Drug Tests Come Back Clean

All drug tests conducted at UFC on FX 8 came back clean according UFC officials, who announced the results on Thursday.

All 26 competitors were tested by the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), which recently informed the UFC of the drug test results. UFC on FX 8 took place May 18 at Arena Jaragua in Jaragua do Sul, Brazil, and was headlined by a pivotal middleweight clash between Vitor Belfort and Luke Rockhold.

“The UFC has been informed by CABMMA that all fighters on the UFC on FX 8 card passed their pre- and post-fight drug tests,” the UFC’s release read. “The UFC fully supports the drug testing efforts of all regulatory agencies. All fighters are drug tested at every event, and the organization maintains a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents.”

Belfort stopped Rockhold in the evening’s main event, flooring the former Strikeforce champion with a swift spinning hook kick before finishing him with ground-and-pound. The FX-broadcast main draw also saw Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Ronaldo Souza triumph in his UFC debut, as “Jacare” easily submitted Chris Camozzi with a smooth arm-triangle choke in the co-headliner.
