UFC on FOX 22: VanZant vs. Waterson is now official following the early-morning weigh-in event on Friday in Sacramento, Calif.
Rising star Paige VanZant returns to the Octagon on Saturday to build on the momentum of her victory over Bec Rawlings in August when she returns to the Octagon opposite Michelle Waterson.
Waterson is a former Invicta FC champion, who is looking make her mark in the Octagon. After defeating Angela Magana in her UFC debut, Waterson is looking for a win over VanZant to propel her toward an opportunity to challenge UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
Neither VanZant nor Waterson had an issues making weight on Friday.
Like VanZant, Sage Northcutt is one of the rising stars in the Octagon, and faces fellow up-and-comer Mickey Gall in Sacramento after both made weight.
One of the highlights of UFC on FOX 22 will be the final fight of former WEC champion and multi-time UFC championship contender Urijah Faber. After both made weight, Faber will square off with fellow veteran Brad Pickett in the California Kid’s hometown.
