Third-ranked heavyweight Alistair Overeem has signed a new contract with Ultimate Fighting Championship.
“The Reem” became a free agent following his UFC on FOX 17 win over former champion Junior dos Santos in December. The 35-year-old posted a photo on Twitter on Monday showing him signing the contract.

Overeem (40-14, 1 NC) is riding a three-fight winning streak with wins over Stefan Struve, Roy Nelson and dos Santos. With his new contract in hand, the former Strikeforce and K-1 champion hopes to make a run at the UFC heavyweight belt.
