All is apparently not lost for UFC Fight Night 83 fighter Gegard Mousasi.
Earlier today, UFC officials announced Michael Bisping (27-7 MMA, 17-7 UFC), Mousasi’s original opponent, instead will fight former middleweight champion Anderson Silva (33-6 MMA, 16-2 UFC) in the February event’s headliner.
That left Mousasi as the odd man out, but today, he tweeted that he still plans to be a part of the event:
UFC Fight Night 83 takes place Feb. 27 at The O2 in London. The entire event streams on UFC Fight Pass.
Mousasi, who’s ranked No. 10 in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA middleweight rankings, suffered an upset TKO loss to Uriah Hall in his most recent bout. Prior to that, the 30-year-old former Strikeforce, DREAM and Cage Warriors champion posted back-to-back UFC wins over Dan Henderson and Costas Philippou.
