The WSOF’s signing spree continues, as “The Ultimate Fighter 16” winner Colton Smith (5-4) has inked an exclusive, multi-fight deal with the UFC.

WSOF President Ray Sefo today confirmed the signing with MMAjunkie. Specific terms of the deal were not revealed.

A debut date and opponent for Smith are expected to be announced shortly.

“Colton is an incredible human being, and his commitment to serving our country as well as maintain an active fighting career is incredible,” Sefo told MMAjunkie. “He’s won two fights already this year, and we look forward to welcoming him into the World Series of Fighting decagon.”

The 28-year-old Smith, who is still an active member of the U.S. Army, is best known in MMA circles for his time on “The Ultimate Fighter 16,” earning decision victories over Eddy Ellis, Igor Araujo and Jon Manley before downing Mike Ricci on the season’s live finale to claim the tournament title.

Smith struggled to maintain that success during his UFC run, losing in consecutive appearances against Robert Whittaker, Michael Chiesa and Carlos Diego Ferreira before being released from the promotion.

Smith has since earned consecutive victories on the regional scene in the Texas-based Rocks Xtreme MMA promotion.

Earlier this week, WSOF announced the signing of UFC veteran lightweight Jason High and Mike Ricci.
