'Kimbo Slice' on 'Dada 5000' fight: Two guys from the same neighborhood have some beef

Don’t read too much in the backstory for Friday’s Bellator 149 co-headliner. It’s not all that complicated, one half of the match-up said.

According to Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, who meets “Dada 5000” (aka Dhafir Harris) in the Spike-televised bout, it’s simply the result of “two (expletives) from the same neighborhood having beef.”

Ferguson (5-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) and Harris (2-0 MMA, 0-0 BMMA), former bare-knuckle fighters who rose to fame in Miami’s underground fight scene, are now rivals. Now going legit with their combat-sports pursuits, they’ll settle the score at Houston’s Toyota Center.

In the above video, which Bellator produced, Ferguson discusses the bad blood.

“You have no respect for this sport,” he said in reference to Harris. “You took the street-fights, and you ran with it, and you made a mockery of it. And for that reason alone, I want his blood.”

He even suggested he’s going to take his time getting his revenge once they’re in the cage.

“I want to cut him,” Ferguson said. “I’m going to split him. I’m going to slice him and make him bleed. If I KO him quick, then I KO him quick. I’m going to try to break his arm, break his ribs.”
