The UFC’s traditional pre-event show returns Sunday with the debut of “Countdown to UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit” on FOX Sports 1.
The one-hour special previews the card’s headlining bout between UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler (26-10 MMA, 11-4 UFC) and former UFC interim welterweight champ Carlos Condit (30-8 MMA, 7-4 UFC), as well as the night’s co-feature between former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski (25-10 MMA, 14-4 UFC) and fellow current contender Stipe Miocic(13-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC).
“Countdown” airs at 4:30 p.m. ET (1 p.m. PT) on FOX Sports 1, and replays air throughout the week.
UFC 193 takes place on Jan. 2 at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
Lawler fought just once in 2015, but he made the most of it, earning a win over Rory MacDonald in a 2015 “Fight of the Year” candidate. He now looks for the second successful defense of his belt, as he takes on Condit.
Meanwhile, the Arlovski vs. Miocic winner will certainly find themselves in an enviable position in the UFC’s heavyweight division and could be in line for a title shot against the winner of UFC 196’s main event rematch with current champ Fabricio Werdum and former title holder Cain Velasquez.
The full UFC 195 lineup includes:
MAIN CARD (Pay-per-view, 10 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX Sports 1, 8 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (UFC Fight Pass, 6:30 p.m. ET)
