The fighters traded strikes for the first third of the round then it went to the mat and each was able to land strikes before they scrambled back to standing. On the feet the fighters traded guillotine choke attempts before Nelson landed a solid series of strikes including a good flurry of knees. Round two had the fighters exchanging strikes with Nelson visibly hurting Cole then closing in with a head kick to drop him. On the mat Nelson flurried with GNP to get the TKO win at :48 of round two.
