The Australian contender looked to impose his Brazilian jiu-jitsu prowess early on in the bout, taking the Filipino phenom down to the ground before quickly transitioning to full mount. However, Kingad showcased his improved ground defense, powering out of the predicament to end the frame on his feet. Kingad then rallied back in the next two rounds, landing multiple takedowns of his own and unleashing powerful ground-and-pound.
