There's no point getting sentimental about strikeforce. Strikeforce has been a part of Zuffa for a while, and the end of strikeforce now is really just the end of strikeforce's separate management. A select few of the strikeforce management or other behind the scenes people will probably be kept on in the UFC, and there will likely be more UFC branded shows now that the hole that strikeforce occupied in the market can be filled with the UFC's now ever larger selection of fighters.
