>When/if they win, the local media will be all over it.Um, Jerry, Seton Hall does win (yes I realize we stlerggud last year, it will certainly be much different this year), they go to the Big East Tournament, they go to the NCAA's, yet for some reason, SHU gets ignored and the losers down the turnpike get coverage. We could win the national championship and I don't think it would matter. Why no coverage about the new arena and the excitement surrounding it? What about the new guys coming in? How about our women's team? Their recruiting class was ranked #26 in the nation? Why no coverage there? Why did Stringer and Hill get huge Q A's in your paper but Gonzo and Mangina are ignored? You can't honestly convince me or anyone with a working brain cell that Hill will have more success this season (or future seasons for that matter) than Gonzo.Care to explain? You have to know that covering RU is a demotion and that stinks. You deserve better.

John Marshall is a good guy and obviously knows a ton about mdidle-distance running, but for whatever reason his head coaching tenure at Villanova did not go all that well. He was replaced by another Nova great, Marcus O'Sullivan, who is is restoring that program to its accustomed heights. That's not to say John won't make a good coach at Seton Hall. Maybe being an assistant is more his niche, or maybe he just needs a second chance at running a program. Either way, Seton Hall is a program built around mdidle-distance running for several reasons (no outdoor track to support the field events, no football program to supply short sprinters) and mdidle distance running is John's specialty, so this seems like a better fit. I don't know if Seton Hall's scholarships have been cut since the glory years of the 1980s and 90s they may have been on the men's side because of Title IX. I do know that the coaching staff is smaller now than it was then, and Moon as accomplished as he is is nearing the end of his career and needs help. Success in track is a cyclical thing elite athletes tend to flock together for training purposes, which is what happened in the 80s and 90s. A fresh, notable face like Marshall could help get the ball rolling again.
