What won Rashad his last two fights (against thiago and rampage) was his conditioning speed and his the way he was able to take them down and tire them both out but in both fights Rashad was badly rocked and if both Rampage and Thiago had went in for the KO they may have got it but they were both too tired and couldnt finish him but Shogun can match Rashads speed and hopefully his conditioning with his injury and unlike Rampage and Thiago he throws deadly leg kicks and will affect Rashads shot and speed if Rashad stays standing I think Shogun will immediately work the legs and destroy Rashad Rashads only hope is too keep the fight on the ground where Shogun is also very good at standing straight back up again

shogun takedown defence might be bad but he can get back p pretty quickly or summit. You saw how he summited randelman and how fast he got up when lyoto dropped him in the second fight! I think shogun is going to pick apart rashad becuz rashad proabably wont be able to control him on the ground. I like rashad but shogun is my favorite fighter in ufc so i have to go with shogun for this one!

I agree. Its a hole in his game that needs to improve. Shogun needs some wrestling training with alot of take down defense /spawl work.

shoguns takedown defense doesnt suck...it just doesnt exist....but once you get shogun to the ground, wtf are you gonna do? what could machida do? what could randleman do? what could ricardo arona do? NOTHING. against machida, he popped back up with minimal effort; against randleman he sunk a leg lock; and against arona...he straight ko'd him. he one of the best grapplers in the game...but he hardly ever needs to use it. im pretty sure hes looking forward to a ground war against rashad. and i think he has the upper hand.
